Julep Maven - February 2014 "It Girl" Box (purchased separately)

When the February Maven window opened, I wanted something that reminded me of Valentine's Day and the pink and purple colors of the Classic With a Twist box fit the bill.  And they are beautiful.  But when I looked at the It Girl box again, it just started screaming MARDI GRAS to me so I couldn't resist and logged onto Julep and bought it, too.  I love holiday polish colors!

Getting the box later did not come with Love which was a February bonus polish in everyone's box from Jane (founder/CEO).

The three polishes it came with are:
Glam Roc - midnight purple & gold stardust
Diamond Theory - full coverage multidimensional copper glitter
Roc Solid - vintage military crème

Here are some pics of the unboxing of the extra February box (It Girl):

If you are a Maven, you can purchase recent previous boxes in the Jule Box area of the shopping section of the website.  This is not the first time I have gone back for a box I have wanted.  ;)

Julep Maven - March 2014 "It Girl" Box

This month I went for the standard box from Julep Maven.  The box was $19.99 shipped.

My profile shows me to be an It Girl, and that is definitely what I wanted this month.  I love monthly themes so I wanted a green for St. Patrick's Day.  Here is the screen shot I got when I ordered - Lizanne is described as a Sea green shimmer so I was sold!

The open box (OK, I might have moved the papers on top before snagging a pic) -

When I opened the paper I could see the surprise lurking in the box - a candy stick!  Although my candy stick did lot look very yummy.  It was broken into many pieces (3 large pieces, many small pieces).

The cards that were included in the box...the usual quote and flier of this month's collection and the ingredients for the candy stick (upper left corner).

The bottom so you can see the names of each color - Lizanne, Margaret, and Princess Grace.

Overall, it's a pretty cute color collection - I am not disappointed.  The broken candy stick did leave something to be desired though.

Brush Review - eyeslipsface Studio Eyeshadow "C" Brush & Fan Brush

Studio Eyeshadow "C" Brush
I have been loving the e.l.f. Studio Eyeshadow "C" Brush lately.  I have tried different shadow brushes, and this one is great!

Check it out here!

The brush has a good stiffness so that it can be fully utilized in both the large area position for fuller coverage and on the edge for detailed coverage.  The shape of the "C" makes it perfect for adding color to your crease.

At $3, this brush is a steal!  I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Studio Fan Brush
A surprise love of mine (and the brush I grab immediately after using the Shadow "C" Brush) is the Studio Fan Brush. I first received this brush in a set and set it aside because I didn't know what to do with it.  After a while, I ordered an e.l.f. special with this brush included and did a little research on it.  It works great for dusting off excess shadow after I am done applying!

Check it out here!

Others have used it for light dusting of powders or even liquid foundation.  I have not had a need to try it, but it sounds like it works well if you only want a small amount of product.  Like I said, I used it for shadow clean-up when I am doing some layering, and it works well.  The brush has kept it's unique shape, too.

I am not sure I would buy another for $3, but for free or part of a set it's a great addition.
